Isabelle's 6 Month Check-Up

Isabelle’s six month checkup went extremely well. She got two shots and barely fussed about either one of them. She weighs 15 lbs 14 oz, is 26.75 inches long, her head measurement is 46.25 cm (it’s actually down from 46.5 cm at 4 months). We think the measurement for her head is down because her head is starting to shape up some and doesn’t have a point at the back like before. Isabelle is right on target for weight and height for 6 months old. Her head measurement is actually getting closer to the growth chart so hopefully at her 9 month checkup it will be on the growth chart.

Developmentally she is being estimated at being around 3-4 months old. She has started to interact more, she’s trying to hold her head up more, she will actually support her head on her own for a few seconds before she gets tired. Her right hand use is slowly progressing. She will now hold her right hand open more and occasionally attempt to reach for something with her right hand. Isabelle’s sight is still a big concern for me but she appears to be trying to focus on objects occasionally.

Isabelle has a checkup with the neurosurgeon in November, her second half of the flu shot, a checkup with the neurologist in December, and an appointment for a second opinion with a pediatric ophthalmologist in December (I personally just couldn’t take the wait and see approach with her vision, if we receive the same diagnosis then that is fine but I need to at least make sure we are doing everything we can).
